CHAPTER IV: THE Invisible Guardian by Sayu Asmarita
At the garden, Prince Kiram was feeding her beloved deer. Suddenly,
a guard approached him, and told him that Queen Saraswati called him to the
private room of the King Rudaya. There, they talked about the continuation of
the dream. For the second time they called dream interpreter to the palace to
find out the truth of the dream. This time, the interpreter answered their
curiosity.
The Interpreter : The dream is real. King Rudaya
passed away in the forbidden forest. He
had read the spell to call
the Invisible Guardian who will take care of you
prince Kiram, but in return
King Rudaya must lose his life. Now the guard
will follow you wherever
you go, and will tell you if there is a danger. In
addition, you will be able
to dream of the future through your dream.
Queen : Is it dangerous to my child?
The interpreter :
Don’t worry, it is not.
A few moment later, after the
interpreter left the room.
Queen : We don’t drag on sadness, kid. God planned all this.
Maybe it is the best for us.
Prince : (he just burst into tears)
Queen : You can’t
be whiny because soon you will be crowned king. (she hugged her)
The next day, all the people of the kingdom gathered in front of
the palace to witness the coronation of the new king, but this coronation was
not enlivened by shouts of happiness, instead it became a moment that brought
tears. Because Kiran was still too young to carry out the duty of a king. Precisely
that day Prince Kiram officially became the King of Jayanegara kingdom.
Becoming king at the age of 13 is a heavy burden for him. People would
think that how can a child rule the kingdom? King Adriana also thought so. He
used this situation to strike back at the Jayanegara kingdom, because he had
accused of hiding and killing King Rudaya. They immediately devised a strategy
of attacking the kingdom.
At night
Kiram was learning about the king’s
duties and accompanied by king Rudaya’s secretary and Queen Saraswati. Although
he was still young, he has a high level of intelligence. The saying “fruit does
not fall far from the tree” is true. Not only the treasure the king left him,
but the intelligence of the King Rudaya also descended on him. While he was
kearning to make a speech, suddenly something whispered in his left ear. He was
shocked and decided to stop the speech, and looked around the room. In fact,
the was no except his mother and the secretary. He thought it was just his
feeling, so he ignored it and returned to finish his speech.
The time showed 23.00, it was almost
midnight, everyone was resting, as was the viceroy, Kiram.
He slept well, but behind that he
dreamed of seeing someone unknown, and he said “I am the invisible guardian, or
you can call me Khadam. Whatever you dream about now it will happen in the
future” He disappeared and the story begun.
Behind the
royal gates the braga royal troops began paralye the royal guards. He killed
one by one the guards, and made it to the garden palace. Another guard shouted “we
were being attacked, Jayanegara kindom is under attack. All of the guards scattered
towards the palace garden, but it was too late the enemy troops had entered the
palace and the king was killed in that incident.
Tomorrow was coming, the king held an
urgent meeting with the secretary, royal advisor and the chief of the royal
guard. In the meeting, the king told to them that Jayanegara kingdom will be
attacked that night. Everyone in the room looked shocked, they doubt whether
they should believe or not, however he is their king, so they must obey the
king. “Chief Faqih, order the archers to stay around the second floor of
palace, and also ordered the best sword knight to be ready behind the main gate,
and the rest I leave it to you”.
Three minutes more,
the enemy troops would come. The Jayanegara troops were ready for action. After
the signal was voiced, the archers prepare to aim the target. Well, when they
were entering the main gate, they were greeted by barrage of arrows which
pierced their bodies. Not yet two minutes, the enemy troops begun to fall. In the
end, the enemy troops are defeated and there was nothing left.
